Set in an Edwardian oasis of South London, the owners of this house chose Shaker for their basement kitchen. The wall cupboards have been ‘hung’ from the Shaker peg rail in the same way that the Shakers themselves would have had them. The earthy tones of the painted kitchen and limestone floor are warmed by the light that floods in through the stunning bay window at the garden end of the kitchen.
