Kitchens in large country houses would originally have been made onsite, as a solid run of cupboards — not individual cupboards, fitted together as they are today. My aim, when designing The Long House Kitchen for my home in Suffolk, was to make it look as though it could have been crafted in one piece (Katie Fontana, Creative Director)
