Highgate Villa A mid-century aesthetic is invoked in this loose Plain English design. The warmth of an unpainted counter-standing cupboard is repeated in a double row of open shelving and the trays in the Osea island. A double run of bright Long House cupboards – painted in Plain English’s ‘Rusty Nail’ – are topped with honed Carrara marble, bringing freshness to the design. The island, which sits directly beneath the highest pitch of the room, is painted in Plain English’s ‘Coal Scuttle’, fitted with leather handles and topped with a combination of Belgian Fossil Stone and oiled European Oak.
