HOW WE WORK
A successful result comes from a creative collaboration between the client, architect, and designer. The beauty of working collaboratively is that the design can evolve as the project and ideas take shape. We offer both bespoke and non-bespoke ways of working, depending on the needs of your project. Our team of highly experienced designers offer a full design service and will guide you through the design process from start to finish.
The first step is to look at your plans together and discuss the brief. Plans can be anything from a rough sketch with measurements to a finished scale drawing. From here, your designer will produce an initial sketch which we present to you with an indication of cost and a mood board of inspirational images.
Upon your review and further discussion, your designer will develop a full set of plans and elevations. Working with you (and your interior designer or architect, if you have one) they will refine the design to balance your needs with function and aesthetics in a way that is tailored to the requirements of your space. After all measurements and final sign-off are confirmed, your design goes into production.
All of our joinery is made in our workshops in Suffolk, England where individual craftspeople take pride in building our cupboards from start to finish, before hand painting and carefully wrapping each one, ready for delivery and installation.
Our specialist fitters and painters will then carefully begin the process of installing and hand finishing – carefully applying the final coat of paint – a signature of Plain English Design. It is also possible to work with us on a supply-only basis, and we also have an exclusive range of paint colours, freestanding furniture, tiles, and ironmongery for you to explore as part of your project.
